Drain Cleaning in Aurora, CO 80012
- ZIP 80012
- 80010 to 80019
- Three housing eras
- Largest metro suburb
Aurora covers more ground and more housing eras than any other Denver suburb. A home in Original Aurora and a home off Southlands are separated by seventy years of plumbing practice, and almost nothing generic is true of both.

Worth knowing
Aurora is genuinely three different service areas wearing one name.
Original Aurora and the older western sections
The 80010 through 80012 area holds the city's oldest housing, much of it 1940s and 50s, some earlier. Cast iron drain lines scaling inward for seventy years, clay laterals with joints, and mature street trees above them. Root intrusion and gradual scale narrowing are both realistic here, and these lines are old enough that pipe condition, not just what is blocking it, becomes the real question.
The 1970s to 90s middle band
The largest share of the housing, running east through the central ZIPs. Mostly early plastic or late cast iron, with laterals in reasonable condition. Problems here tend to be accumulation rather than pipe failure, though lines forty years old and never cleaned do build up.
The newer southeast
Development from the 2000s onward toward the E-470 corridor and Southlands. Fused PVC, no root entry, and the standard newer-housing profile of kitchen grease and wipes in the main line.
What that means practically
More than in any other suburb we cover, the useful question in Aurora is not "what is wrong with Aurora drains" but "roughly when was your house built". The answer changes what we expect to find and what we bring.
Basement floor drains across all three
Common throughout, and the lowest opening in the system, so it shows main-line restriction first regardless of the housing era.

The lowest opening. A floor drain backing up is usually the main line talking, not the floor drain.

Services that fit these homes

Drain cleaning
Across all three areas, fixture and main line.

Rooter service
Concentrated in Original Aurora and the older western sections where clay laterals sit under mature trees.

Clogged drain repair
For single-fixture work, which dominates calls from the newer southeast.

Sewer camera inspection
Matters most in the older sections. On a seventy-year-old cast iron line the question is not only what is blocking it but how much pipe is left, and that is a real decision point.

Hydro jetting
For scale in older cast iron and grease in newer lines, with pipe condition assessed first in the older housing.

Working on an Aurora drain
Aurora is large, and where you are decides the job. The city spans two counties and roughly eighty years of construction. Original Aurora and the older western sections sit on pre-war and post-war housing with cast iron and clay. The southeast build-out is modern PVC. Between them is a lot of 1970s and 80s stock that could be either.
Because of that spread, roughly when the house was built is the most useful single fact you can give us on the phone. It changes what we expect to find, what machine we bring, and whether roots are even a realistic candidate.
Distance is real here. Aurora covers a lot of ground. When you call, the address matters as much as the symptom, because it affects what we can honestly commit to today.
Multi-family and rentals. Aurora has a large share of apartment and rental housing, and drain calls in those work differently from a single-family call. We need whoever can approve the work on the phone, and it helps to know how many units are affected before anyone arrives.
If more than one unit has trouble in the same week, that is very likely a shared-line problem rather than a coincidence, and we will plan for a main-line job rather than a fixture visit.
Who owns the line. As a general principle the lateral from the building to the public main is the property owner's, and the main in the street is the utility's. If only your property is affected it is almost certainly your lateral. A camera settles it either way by showing where the restriction actually sits.

Aurora is huge. Do you cover all of it?
We cover the metro, and Aurora is a large part of it. Where you are does affect scheduling on a given day, so give us the address when you call and we will tell you honestly what is realistic rather than booking something we cannot service properly.
My house is in Original Aurora and the drains are slow everywhere. What is likely?
In 1940s and 50s housing, slow across multiple fixtures usually points at the main line, and the two common causes are scale narrowing old cast iron or roots at the joints of a clay lateral. Both are clearable. Which one it is changes what happens afterwards.
We are in a newer southeast build. Could it be tree roots?
Very unlikely. Housing from the 2000s onward runs fused PVC with no jointed sections for roots to enter, and the trees are young. Grease or wipes is the realistic explanation. If someone suggests roots without a camera, ask what they are basing it on.
How fast can you get to Aurora?
Call and we will tell you what is realistic today. Aurora is large, so where in the city you are genuinely matters. If it is an active backup, say so at the start of the call.
Get a price for your Aurora drain
Tell us the Aurora address, which fixtures are affected and roughly when the building went up. That is usually enough for us to say whether you are looking at a branch line or the main sewer lateral before anyone is on site.
